“Wangan” (“Wang” with the third tone in Chinese) is an old name for Wangan (“Wang” with the fourth tone in Chinese), and is also the biggest settlement on the south Wangan Island. The pure white beach in Wangankou is more than one kilometer long, and is an
ideal recreational place in the scorching summer. The grassland on the beach is where the green turtles lay eggs, and has been designated as a green turtle nesting protection area.



This place was called Wangankou (fishing net place) because of the beautiful sight of fishermen casting nets, sunning nets on the beaching and women mending nets. Fishing boats no long park in this area. It is now a wading heaven for children and tourists.

The serene, clear sea, and golden beach changes colors, tones and hues throughout the day. That is why it is nicknamed the cocktail beach. To see the wonders of changing sea and beach, we recommend you staying one night in Wang-an.
