Located at the end section (south end) of Fenggui Peninsula, this is the first western-style fortress in Taiwan. The Dutch invaded Penghu and built this fortress on Shetoushan in 1622 to protect their trade interests. A monument in memory of the French
people
that died in battles and remains of military fortifications are still preserved at this site.
