Dayi Temple was built in the first year of Tongzhi's reign (1862) and was dedicated to Wen Fu Wang Ye in the early days. About 30 years ago, it was named “Dayi Temple” as it started worship Guan Yu (Holy Emperor Guan). In recent years, more than NT$10 million have been spent on the reconstruction of the temple. The temple is extremely gorgeous and magnificent and is a must-see spot in Xiyu Township.
