Xiying Rainbow Bridge is located in Guanyinting Coast Park in Magong City, Penghu County. The county government constructed the Bridge on the offshore dikes near Guanyinting, costing over NT$10 million in 2004. It is the first steel arch bridge in Penghu. The bridge is 200 meters in length; the net width of the deck is 4.6 meters and its height is 15 meters above sea level. As the colorful neon lighting shows a variety of colors including red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet at night, which are the colors of the rainbow spectrum, and Guanyinting is also known as Xiying Paradise, the name is given to the bridge.
Xiying Rainbow Bridge and Guanyinting complement the surrounding scenery perfectly and thereby create a romantic and slow-paced atmosphere. As the evening approaches, the colorful neon lighting on the bridge shines even more brilliantly.
The locals or visitors like to go to the bridge to exercise, walk, or enjoy gorgeous views. Xiying Rainbow Bridge has also been the location where fireworks are shot off during the Penghu Int’l Fireworks Festival in summer in recent years. In addition to the lighting of the neon lights, the night sky in Penghu is embellished by the fireworks. Thanks to these features, the bridge has recently become a landmark in Penghu.
