Zhang Yu-Sheng Museum was built by transforming Duxingshi Village, the village where Yu-Sheng Zhang, a singer, lived in his childhood. Since the space was limited, the county government also renovated neighboring houses at No. 20, 18 and 16 to use these spaces as part of Zhang Yu-Sheng Museum for exhibitions. The museum is furnished with old furniture to exhibit the historical relics related to Yu-Sheng Zhang, including his photos, creations, works, family letters, trophies, honorable records, videos, etc. Most of these relics were provided by the relatives and fans of Yu-Sheng Zhang and therefore are precious.
Zhang Yu-Sheng Museum comprises 4 exhibition areas with different topics: Yu-Sheng Zhang’s childhood, education and growth, singing career, and media, to introduce his schooling and life in Penghu.
Yu-Sheng Zhang was born in Penghu and was a gifted creator. He grew up and lived in Duxingshi Village in Magong City, Penghu County, having a long history but basically unknown to people until 9 years of age. Now, Zhang Yu-Sheng Museum is established in the cultural park representing Duxingshi Village to commemorate this gifted creator. Yu-Sheng Zhang wrote a lot of good and well-known songs and became famous with the encouraging song “My Future is not a Dream”. He subsequently died in a car accident at the age of 31, leaving his fans in sorrow and mourning.
