On the tableland at Waian Village, Xiyu Township, Penghu County
Also known as Xipu Sanxian Tower, The Waian Sanxian Tower is located on the top of a hill in front of the Waian Village to the southwest of the Wengwan Temple. The three stone towers stand erect on the hill. Tourists can overlook the entire Waian Village from there.
The hills on the left and right sides of the Waian Village form an east-west opposition to each other. The hill behind the village surrounds the settlement to form a terrain higher in the north and lower in the south. With their wisdom, the ancient people built three stone towers on the east hill at the place closest to the sea. The towers develop from the east to the west and seemingly, they are moving forward side by side, indicating that the hill is stretchable to the sea.
The towers sit on square stone bases and their conical bodies are made of stone, too. The towers are about 2 meters high with a diameter of about 1. They have the function of suppressing devils and driving out evil spirits like Shigandang. A basalt stele is embedded in the primary tower. There are discarded military barracks and brickfields nearby the Waian Sanxian Tower.
