A stargazing park is situated on Guanyin Hill near Shanshuei Fishing Harbor east to the south coast of Shanshuei Beach. The well-known snorkeling area in Shanshuei lies off the seashore at the foot of the hill. The park was remodeled in 2008. Once climbing up to the top of the trail, you can overlook the harbor in Shanshuei. There are grassland and a pathway along the sea coast on the hill. 3 pavilions sit in the stargazing park where visitors walking along the pathway can have a rest. Stone tablets with astronomical phenomena during different solar terms are placed on the hill. An area is designed for stargazing without the lights of boats for night squid fishing in Suogang and Shanshuei on summer nights. There is also a cob wall built to avoid light pollution from the boats on the sea. Visitors can enjoy the star-studded sky on the stargazing square.
Shanshuei Stargazing Park is located on the highest spot in the east of Shanshuei, where we can overlook Shanshuei Beach and Shanshuei Fishing Harbor and take in the blue ocean view at a glance. On the other side of the park, the ocean, beaches and grasslands lying between Suogang and Shanshuei come into view. The scenery will be different and unique in the summer and winter. This is a place where you may watch the sunrise in the morning, enjoy the sunset in the evening and go stargazing at night.
