Mr. An-Bang Pan, a singer famous for his folk song "Grandmother’s Penghu Bay” came from the reserved area of “Jinlongtou Military Dependents’ Village” (or Duxingshi Village) in Magong, Mr. An-Bang Pan was borne in Duxingshi Village in 1961. He was brought up by his grandmother in Penghu who loved him very much. Later, he got acquainted with his good friend, Mr. Chia-Hsiu Yeh, occasionally in Taipei and entered the world of folk songs. After talking about his memory of the birthplace and his grandmother many times, he transferred his emotion to words and creates the “Grandmother’s Penghu Bay”, a very popular folk song at that time.
The old house of Mr. An-Bang Pan is an independent building of Japanese style located at No. 5, Lane 1, Xinfu Li, Magong City. It is built with bamboos, lime, yellow mud, and "Coral Stone", a special building material in Penghu. The home of Yu-Sheng Zhange, a deceased famous singer, is at the front end of the lane. The famous actress Jin Hu and actor Shun Chao also came from Duxingshi Village. The Penghu County Government raised funds to renovate the old house Mr. An-Bang Pan and rebuild it to a memorial hall to record his stories. There is an old olive tree of more than 90 years at age in the Pan An-Bang Memorial Hall. As one of the 53 registered valuable old trees in Penghu County, it has a special number of "Magong 17" to demonstrate its rareness.
