Penghu Cultural Area is one of the areas managed by the Cultural Affairs Bureau of Penghu County and is also the largest cultural and recreational spot in Penghu. In recent years, the Cultural Affairs Bureau has the space of the square and gallery outside the Auditorium of Penghu County as the center to create a complete cultural area with surrounding Erdai Art Hall and Penghu Science Museum.
After planning and reformation, the area is renovated and becomes a perfect spot for the locals to relax on weekends or after work. In addition, there are a lot of additional public service facilities in the area, including offices, exhibition areas, outdoor performance space, exhibition centers, science museums and performance halls, thereby attracting more people to this area.
Penghu Cultural Area is an ideal place for student and adult couples to go on a date, for parents and children to have fun, or for elders to exercise or dance. A variety of cultural spots and activities are available in the area such as art exhibition space, Zhongxing Art Gallery, outdoor art performances, squares, water shows, and parks with sculptures. Outdoor performances and art/cultural activities are regularly organized in the area. Also, there are a tree-shaded pedestrian precinct and nighttime lighting equipment.
