In a natural bay located in Suogang Borough, Magong City, Penghu County, there is a category second-class fishing harbor called Suogang Fishing Harbor, which is the central fishing harbor
in southern Magong Island. In May 1953, a 388m riprap breakwater, a 240m wharf was built, a gas station, and a 127m seawall were built. In 1977, the central government accelerated project subsidization to complete the wharf and the berthing area dredging works.
At the Suogang Fishing Harbor, there are facilities, including a gas station, ice storage, a fishing gear preparation site, and an auction area, to provide suppliers and save the trip to Magong for suppliers for fishermen. Therefore, the Suogang Fishing Harbor
has become a support harbor for Magong Port. The onshore fishery facilities include a fish market, refrigeration storage, an ice making plant, a gas station, and a fishermen activity center. As the harbor facilities are well established, only a few yields
must be shipped to the Magong Port for distribution.
The fish market in the Suogang Fishing Harbor is a famous seafood retail market in Penghu. In the morning and the afternoon, fishing boats will catch fish from the sea and sell the yields by the shore. Especially in the after session, villagers from all parts
of Penghu will come to the Suogang Fishing Harbor buying fish and seafood.
The Ziwei Temple worshipping Ziwei Dadi by the shore has the tallest deity statue that can been seen from an airplane in Penghu. This statue worth over NT$100 million took ten years to complete. The temple is a seven-story building and a must-visit sight to
see in the Suogang Fishing Harbor. Nearby sights include the Suogang North Tower and Suogang South Tower built by earlier settlers as tools for exorcism.
