Located at the end of a bay at the northeast coast of the Magong Inner Port, Caiyuan Wetland is adjacent to the north Twin-lakes Park and Singren Reservoir nearby by the No. 205 Road, to the east Singrenjinshih Residence nearby the No. 201 Road, to the west Caiyuan Life Memorial Park, and the south intertidal zone at Caiyuan fish farms.
Fish farms were set up along the coast east of Caiyuan Li during the Japanese Occupied Period. The fish farms were extended steadily after 1945. Since they were closed in 1971, This wetland has become the optimal place for birds to transit, hibernate, and migrate. 
Guides at the nearby Caiyuan Fishing Port can lead tourists to the inland sea to view cage culture and oysters, fish cuttlefish, and feed sergeant fish. There are windbreak forests and embarkments with interpretive signs along the coast. Tourists can take a walk, watch birds, and enjoy the marine scenery in this area. 
The Singren Reservoir, afforestation area, Twin-lakes Park and Mangrove Wetland, Caiyuan fish farm area, Caiyuan intertidal zone area are located around the Caiyuan Wetland. It is the most suitable place for ecotourism and excursion in the downtown of Magong City. The Caiyuan Wetland features natural and artificial wetland diversities. There is a vast sea area and the broad wetland is not far away from the downtown of Magong City. This conveniently located place meets the conditions to become a national and wetland park
